Howard's View Photography: Common cranes in Bridgeton

Jimmy Warren and I went to Husted's Landing in Bridgton, NJ yesterday to try to see the Common Crane in the flock of eighteen mixed Sandhills and Hybrids. We were not disappointed. We then went to the Lighthouse Pool at the Cape May Point State Park. There were a bunch of ducks in the small opening in the ice, e.g. American and Eurasian Wigeons (2 males, 1 female), a drake Redhead, two Drake Ring-necked Ducks and one hen, Gadwalls, Northern Shovelers, Mallards, American Coots, Canada Geese and a pair of mute Swans.

Neat picture. It's amazing to see cranes. What are they hybrids of?

The hybrid cranes appear to be part Sandhill Crane, and part Common Crane. Amazing to have this in NJ!
