Regina’s Picture This: Gold Rush in New Jersey – Sunflower Gold

On the road for more than an hour, I’m almost at my destination. Watching for landmarks, I slow down, make the turn at the next traffic light and I’m light years away from my city-fringe apartment as the roadside landscape becomes one of corn fields as far as the eye can see. It is a visual treat for me, coming from an urban area where such sweeping views of farm fields are not part of the landscape. But that is not what I drove here for. I bear left, following the curve in the road and suddenly, there it is – in all of its glory. My smile widens in delight and I can’t wait to park and start panning for gold.
